Superb,great for a relaxing weekend away,

Peebles Highland Games last Saturday, and after a great day of game events and the sun shining all day, we decided to have a walk to town and visit a few of our local drinking venues was a great idea to end a fantastic day.After visiting a couple, we decided to visit the Tontine. I ordered 2 single gins and one tonic water I paid £10.65p, yet on average, in other establishments, we paid £7.25p. So a re visit isn't on the cards anytime soon.Just one other caveat it would be a good idea to close the door between the reception and bar so that the one bar staff serving doesn't get unnecessary distracted by chatting back and forth and could use that most important word whilst concluding the sale by saying thank you!!!!!!!!!!.

J’ai bien aimé cet hôtel là, le personnel était très accueillant et j’ai pu réserver même au dernier moment. On avait en plus un parking couvert pour mon vélo !:) C’était top. Petit déjeuner au lendemain copieux et délicieux. Les œufs fermiers étaient très bons. Merci

Enjoyed an excellent meal at the Tontine Hotel in Peebles yesterday. The fish and chips were great.Afternoon tea looks amazing as well

Food is to expensive for what it is. Staff seem inexperienced and there simply aren't enough of them to be running a bar with cocktails. Long delays in fabric standard cocktails. Nice environment though.

Overnight stay in the Tontine. All staff very freindly. Easy parking at the rear. Rooms very clean and bed very comfotable. Both Breakfast and evening food was excellent.

Great lunch with excellent service.

Celebrated my mums 60th with an overnight stay at the weekend. The staff were so helpful and went over and above for us to make sure my mum had a great time! Breakfast the next morning was also fantastic

Great place for coffee

Myself and my partner booked lady minute. It is a lovely hotel friendly staff and dog friendly too. Beds were fairly comfy. Small complaint that there was one packet of biscuits (with 2 biscuits in ! ) and only 2 tea bags in the room. Some hot chocolate satchets would have been great, too. I'm not sure if this is standard as there were more coffee satchets. Breakfast was ok sausages weren't though.

Have visited here a few times for a drink. Very nice and cosy atmosphere. There's also seating outside.

Just back from a phenomanal 3 night stay at the Tontine Peebles. At the risk of the hotel being too popular I give this a 5 star rating. We were group of five motorcyclists. Off road covered parking straight forward check great choice for breakfast. Clean room Great service from all staff. Will return. Also noted the place has dog friendly rooms. Central for Peebles

We have used the Tontine for ourselves and guests over the last 15 years and they are consistently excellent! Really well trained staff, who are professional and friendly, good rooms, great food, superb bike storage. Overall another fabulous stay - thanks team Tontine!

Excellent hotel! We stayed in the Innes room and our son had a standard room. The rooms were exceptionally clean and comfortable. We had a room on the front, which despite being on the main street, was quiet and comfortable. We were welcomed by Laura, who was friendly, helpful and welcoming. We ate in the restaurant and the food was amazing, extremely high quality. The waiting staff were all friendly and helpful and helped make the whole experience wonderful. We really enjoyed our stay at the Tontine and will definitely be back.

We had a lovely one night stay here using a 5pm voucher.Room spacious and clean, window was to back of hotel though , so no view, disappointing.Food and service very good.Would definitely use again.

Popped in here for lunch on a wee visit to Peebles. What a beautiful dining room. Very elegant with high ceilings, chandelier and tastefully decorated with pretty art on the walls which you can purchase.Our meals were lovely. Two courses for £13.95! what a steal. Two of our party of 3 had vegetarian haggis with neaps for the starter and third person chose the creamy goats cheese. beautifully presented and very tasty. we each chose different mains. fish and chips with peas which was beautiful and fresh. Macaroni cheese was really creamy and tasty and accompanied with garlic bread. The third meal was the pie of the day. chicken and bacon with mash and veg. Well presented, quick service and really tasty. what a great find. we will be back. we noticed that they do roast dinners on Sundays too so will Tey to return for that.

Had a delicious afternoon tea at this hotel with 2 friends. Everyone agreed it was a good experience.

We stayed here for a Christmas residency (Christmas eve to boxing day) great option for Christmas, we were so well fed and looked after! Thanks to all the staff who worked all the different shifts, they were so pleasant and friendly!

Shower did not drain well, but everthing else classy & warm. Nice to have some free live music.

Very comfortable hotel with friendly staff. Left a piece of clothing behind and called hotel they found it and posted it back to me. I offered to pay postage and they said it was just part of thier service.Very kind.

I had a wonderful stay in the Tontine at end of August 2023, and I highly recommend it! I emailed reception to see if there was any space for me and my dog. Laura emailed back right away confirming there was space available and there was an offer on including dinner, bed and breakfast. Booking directly was much cheaper than using a booking site. The room was lovely, the bed very comfy, the en-suite was spacious and modern - all very clean. There was a desk in the room so I could work, the wifi worked great. I really enjoyed every meal I had at the Tontine, lots of veggie and even vegan options and a good selection at breakfast. The staff are absolutely amazing, they can’t do enough for you. They’re so helpful, and friendly, they always brought water for my dog (dog dining area separate to main area). A few times I asked to order lunch to my room while I worked, and every time someone offered to deliver it. I ask to extend my stay, and the lovely team on reception sorted it for me. Peebles is a beautiful place to visit, there are so many great walks nearby. Highly recommend, I’ll deffo be back.

Five stars. The Tontine Hotel and the town of Peebles together are WONDERFUL ❤. 5 stars for the Hotel. Peebles and the Tontine Hotel are an outstanding example of Scottish life and early architecture where things were made of stone and wood. The Tontine Hotel is the quintessential experience of Scots hospitality and the quaint colorful village is just a short drive from Edinburgh.
The Tontine Hotel is warm and cozy. The food is fabulouuus! my room had not only a towel warmer in the bath but also a trouser press in the corner of the room. Premium bath amenities. very thoughtful.
My room number was number 1 not 101. It's the real deal ...with history and soul you can feel when you walk in.. Vintage and Aged i wish I could retire there.

Absolute best Sunday lunch by far, including, home made cauliflower cheese, proper roasties, real gravy (the best I’ve tasted) accompanying a fabulous beef roast. We always have Sunday lunch here when visiting family up from Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We have had a wonderful stay. Spacious bedrooms nicely decorated. Newly refurbished bathrooms. Friendly staff . The food has been excellent. We will be back.

Great choice of food. Vegetarian choices and also gluten free. Willing to adapt dishes to suit dietary needs.

Dog friendly.. Riley was in his element with a fresh water bowl & another with treats. It’s a lovely setting in the middle of Peebles with parking. Thoroughly enjoyed my light lunch with my dad & dog

Beautiful lunch lovely menu great service

I stayed at the Tontine recently for a wedding. I was travelling alone with my 3 year old child. The hotel could not have done more for us and to make sure we both enjoyed our stay.
From making sure I had a drink in my hand when I couldn’t get to the bar, to offering to get us food from the buffet, someone was always making sure we were considered. Their flexibility and thoughtfulness really meant a lot to me. I’d definitely stay here again.

Nice position in Peebles with the River Tweed at the back of the hotel. Very attentive and genuinely friendly staff.

The staff are all extremely helpful; nothing is too much trouble. Comfortable rooms and good food. Excellent location. Highly recommend.

Really friendly hotel with lovely staff. The food was really nice and the icing on the cake for us was how our dog was made welcome too. Lovely clean dish of fresh water followed by a bowl of treats. thank you.

Just back from a Christmas Eve/Christmas day at the Tontine. What a lovely, friendly atmosphere and staff. Very comfortable stay, and really great food! Couldn’t have found a better place to enjoy Christmas with my family. Thank you Tontine. Margaret Bryce-Stafford.
