Fishing Breaks in the Scottish Borders
Salmon Fishing on the River Tweed
The Tweed is one of the most productive salmon fishing rivers in Europe and amongst the best fishing experiences in Scotland. In Autumn, the river and its tributaries can be stuffed full of salmon as the main run comes in from September onwards. The combination of potentially great sport and the Borders in full autumnal colour is a pretty potent mix. In addition to wild Atlantic salmon, double figure sea trout are caught every season, whilst the brown trout fishing can be exceptional with fish in the 4-5lb bracket, and bigger possible. There are also specimen grayling with fish over 3lb+ present which you can fish for throughout the winter.
