The Adam Room

Experience fresh, Scottish dining in our Adam Room Restaurant. The picturesque views across the Glensax Hills create a relaxing atmosphere and provide the perfect accompaniment to your meal.

Enjoy the wealth of fresh, locally sourced, quality produce of the Scottish Borders. From Borders beef, lamb, and Sika venison, to fresh salmon from the East Coast ports, there’s always a variety of seasonal delights that are rich in flavour. Our wine list has been carefully selected to compliment your meal so make sure to indulge in a glass, or two!

If you’re in need of a recommendation ask our servers who will be more than happy to help you make a choice. If wine isn’t for you don’t worry, we also have an extensive selection of delicious classic liqueurs, and cognacs. Remember to book a table to ensure you get a chance to experience all the Adam Room has to offer.

The Bistro

Enjoy relaxed, contemporary dining in our Bistro.  The bistro is the perfect place to enjoy a light bite with friends, family, or your significant other.

It’s open throughout the day so whenever you’re feeling a little peckish pop in and try the fresh, locally sourced ingredients that make our meals so special.  It’s a must visit if you fancy trying a taste of Scottish cuisine.

An Afternoon Treat

Sit back, relax and revive yourself whilst enjoying a leisurely hour or two with friends and loved ones in the Callants Lounge.  At The Tontine Hotel our home made cakes, freshly baked scones, and buttery Scottish shortbread are an unmissable speciality.

Our full afternoon tea comprises of delicate finger sandwiches served along with your choice of scone and a selection of mouth-watering cakes, savouries and pastries accompanied by your choice of tea or coffee.

If it’s a special occasion, or you’re feeling particularly lavish, why not make it a sparkling afternoon tea and enjoy a glass of our house Prosecco.  After an active morning out and about exploring Peebles, a laid-back afternoon enjoying tea is the perfect way to unwind.

The Secret Garden

The ‘Garden Room’, as it is now known, started life as a small area of untidy, weed strewn rubble.

Now it’s been transformed into a lovely secret place to while away a few hours … chatting to friends whilst enjoying an afternoon tea or bowl of fresh strawberries taken with a glass of beautifully bubbly Prosecco.

In the summer the Garden room can accommodate up to 16 guests.  We have installed a small water feature in the garden together with spotlights for the evenings. Honeysuckle and clematis adorn the facing walls with brightly coloured annuals planted beneath.

For those of you who like to eat ‘al fresco’ we serve our full lounge menu in the garden.

Fancy a tipple?

Class in a glass … the Tweeddale Shoot Bar has a fantastic range of tempting drink options.

We have a range of ales and lagers always available including the locally brewed Broughton Cask Ale and our own ‘Tontine 1808’ Ale.  We also serve Somersby Cider, San Miguel and Carlsberg.

If you’re guilty of having a sweet tooth or simply want to mix it up, why not try one of our cocktails? Choose from a range of classics including mojitos, cosmopolitans, and the ever-popular martini – and if you fancy something a little bit different, our experienced bar staff will be happy to fix up a special cocktail just for you.

Our wine list boasts a wonderful range of reds, whites, and rosés, featuring a fantastic selection of superb value award winning bottles for your enjoyment. And if it’s a special occasion, why not celebrate in style with a bottle of Champagne?

If you’re not a big drinker, that’s no problem, we have a range of hot and cold soft drinks available including the award-winning Cuddybridge apple juice – delicious! No matter what drink is in your hand, the Tweeddale Shoot Bar is the perfect place to spend an evening catching up with your friends, family and loved ones.
