When do I check out? Please check out of your room prior to 11.00am. Should you require to leave your luggage longer this can be attended to at reception. We do ask that you please respect these times as the hotel needs to service guest rooms for arriving guests which takes time.
What about my valuables? The management cannot accept responsibility for guests’ effects left on the premises, but small valuable items may be deposited for safekeeping against a receipt signed by the Manager or a member of reception staff. This receipt must be retained as it will be required as the authority for the item to be withdrawn from deposit.
What are my payment options? Cheques are acceptable when supported by, and within the limits of, a current cheque card. The following credit cards are accepted: Visa, Mastercard and Maestro
What communication facilities are in place? Wireless Internet, provided by Hoist is available throughout the hotel. Personal WiFi is Free of Charge to residents. Business WiFi is chargeable. Each bedroom also has a direct dial telephone with voicemail.
Is there a laundry service available? We do not provide a laundry service, however there is a local laundrette in Peebles that operates 9am to 5pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 9am to midday on Wednesday and Saturday. Should you require any items to be laundered please ask at Reception for a quotation and a due date for the return of the laundry.
Can I smoke? To comply with government legislation that came into force in March 2006 the hotel is totally non-smoking.
Can I bring my pet? We accommodate dogs and their owners in the Riverside lodge bedrooms, many of which have recently been refurbished. If requested we will provide a cosy dog blanket, bowl for fresh water and a doggy treat (biscuit) or two. Dogs and their owners are welcome to relax and eat in our hotel bar, bistro or garden. To avoid disappointment, please let us know on booking that you are bringing your dog to stay with you.
Where can I find tourist information? We have an extensive supply of information on places to visit and things to do within the Borders. Some of this information is contained in the ‘Welcome to the Scottish Borders’ book within the rooms. Should you require specific information the Tourist Information office is less than 25m along the High Street.
When is breakfast served? A full Scottish or Continental Breakfast is served in the Adam Room between the following times: Monday to Saturday 7.30am – 9.30am and Sunday 8.00am – 10.00am.
Is there morning coffee? Tea and coffee are available in the Callants Lounge all day. Why not try some of our legendary homemade shortbread, gingerbread, cakes and scones?
When can I enjoy dinner? Choose from our varied evening menu which offers a choice of traditional favourites together with a number of seasonal dishes featuring local suppliers in and around the Scottish Borders. The menu is designed so guests may choose a light supper or a more fulsome 2 or 3 course dinner. The choice is yours. Dinner is served in our Bistro and Adam Room Restaurant between 6.00pm to 8.45pm. Please contact reception to reserve a table.
Can you provide a picnic lunch? Should you be planning a day out or a long journey, we will be happy to provide you with a picnic lunch. Please order with reception by 7.00pm the previous day. Gourmet packed lunches with Champagne, Smoked Salmon etc … are also available.
