Frequently asked questions
There is parking both to the front and the rear of the hotel. At the rear of the hotel there is an automatic electronic entry system, which is connected to the reception desk.
Cheques are acceptable when supported by, and within the limits of, a current cheque card. The following credit cards are accepted: Visa, Mastercard and Maestro.
Check in is by 14.00 hours or possibly earlier by prior arrangement.
Please check out of your room prior to 11.00am. Should you require to leave your luggage longer this can be attended to at reception. We do ask that you please respect these times as the hotel needs to service guest rooms for arriving guests which takes time.
The management cannot accept responsibility for guests' effects left on the premises, but small valuable items may be deposited for safekeeping against a receipt signed by the Manager or a member of reception staff. This receipt must be retained as it will be required as the authority for the item to be withdrawn from deposit.
24 hour emergency medical service is available in the Scottish Borders. Please contact reception or night porter (Dial 0) in the case of an emergency.
Wireless Internet, provided by Swisscom Eurospot is available throughout the hotel. Personal WiFi is Free of Charge to residents. Business WiFi is chargeable. Each bedroom also has a direct dial telephone with voicemail.
A laundry service is available, please ask at reception. This is provided by a local company. This service is not available at weekends. Please ask at Reception for a quotation and a due date for the return of the laundry.
To comply with government legislation that came into force in March 2006 the hotel is totally non-smoking.
We accept small, well behaved dogs. Dogs must not be left unattended in the bedroom and are not allowed in any public areas other than the bar (with exception to guide dogs). Any damage or soiling will be charged at full cost of repair.
We have an extensive supply of information on places to visit and things to do within the Borders. Some of this information is contained in a book within the rooms. As as last resort the Tourist Information office is less than 25m along the High Street.
A full Scottish or Continental Breakfast is served in the Adam Room between the following times: Monday to Saturday 7.30am - 9.30 am Sunday 8.00am - 10.00am.
Tea & Coffee are available in the Callants Lounge all day. Why not try some of our legendary homemade shortbread, gingerbread or scones?
Lunch is served daily in the Bistro and in the Adam Room Restaurant from 12 noon to 2.00pm.
Afternoon tea is served in our Callants Lounge between 2.30pm to 5.30pm.
Choose from our varied evening menu which offers a choice of traditional favourites together with a number of seasonal dishes featuring local suppliers in and around Tweeddale. The menu is designed so guests may choose a light supper or a more fulsome 2 or 3 course dinner. The choice is yours. Dinner is served in our Bistro and Adam Room Restaurant between tfrom 7.00pm to 8.45pm. Please contact reception to reserve a table.
We can cater for just about any special diet, advance warning is required.
Should you be planning a day out or a long journey, we will be happy to provide you with a picnic lunch. Please order with reception by 9.00pm the previous day. Gourmet packed lunches with Champagne, Smoked Salmon etc ... are also available.
