Fishing on the Tweed

Salmon

The Tontine overlooks the river Tweed, the Queen of Salmon rivers. The long Salmon season runs from 1st February to 30th November, though the Tweed is most famous for its autumn run of large fish, with a few fish even approaching the 30lb mark. Ghillies can be arranged to accompany you to provide expert advice and tuition if required. Contact us for details. Bring your catch to us and let our chefs cook it for your dinner. If you prefer we can keep it in our freezer facilities until you leave.

Trout

The Tweed with its tributaries provides first-class fishing for brown trout, many of them wild. Rainbow & Brown trout are also available in local lochs. The season for River trout is from 1st April to 30th September.
